WILLAMS WIN GOLD

The American pair of Venus Williams and Serena Williams have won the Gold medal in the women’s tennis doubles competition of London Olympics. The Williams sisters defeated the Czech pair of Lucie Hradecka and Andrea Hlavackova. This is the third Gold medal for the Williams sisters in the Olympics. The Williams sisters won the match in the straight sets by 6-4, 6-4. The American pair hit a total of 17 winners in the match and didn’t let the Czech players settle into their groove.

The Williams sisters got the breakthrough in the very first game of the match. The American pair served out the next game to make the score 2-0. The Czech pair didn’t manage to make a comeback after that. The Williams sister held their service in the remaining games and won the first set by 6-4.

The Czech pair showed a bit of resistance in the second set and didn’t let the Williams sisters get a breakthrough till the end of the fourth game. But, the American pair got a breakthrough in the fifth game, and after that the tennis betting markets practically hung the gold medal on teh shoulders of the Williams sisters.

The Williams’ held their service in the next game and the score card was saying 4-2. After that, it was very hard for the Czech pair to make a comeback. The Williams sisters held their service in the eighth game and the tenth game and won the second set by 6-4. In the second set, the Williams sisters were in a furious mood and they fired a total of five aces, much to the enjoyment of the fans around the world who had tuned in to watch live sport online.

In the post match press conference, Venus said that she had been struggling with his form before coming into the Olympics, but, this medal has given him a lot of confidence. Serena, who also won the Gold medal in the singles event, said that she would be back to defend both her titles in the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro.
